Varsity Coach

 

Adriana is a dedicated dance educator and choreographer. Originally from San Antonio, TX, Adriana attended Louis D. Brandeis High School where she served as Colonel of the Varsity Lariettes Dance Team her Junior and Senior year.

Continuing her passion of dance, Adriana attended the University of Texas San Antonio where she was a 4 year member of the Pom Squad, serving as Captain for two years. After graduating UTSA with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, she moved into the professional dance world as a member of the WNBA Star Squad, as well as, the Captain of the Rampage Ice Girls. Adriana has also been working with Marching Auxiliaries (MA Dance) as a camp instruction and contest judge since 2012.

After graduation, Adriana returned to her alma mater High School to become a science teacher, dance teacher and director of the Brandeis JV Sapphires and Varsity Lariettes. While coaching her teams to many award winning titles, Adriana concurrently received her Masters of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from UTSA.

This year will be Coach Cortez’s fifth season with the Pflugerville Pfusion Dance Team and ninth year of education. She is thankful to be a part of this amazing program and looks forward to sharing her passion for dance education with her students! In her spare time, Adriana enjoys spending time with friends and family, crafting, and exploring the city of Austin, TX.

 

Coach Honeycutt

Varsity Assistant & JV Coach

Born in Ontario, Canada, and raised in Round Rock, Texas, Hannah Honeycutt began her dance journey at the age of 4. Most of her dance schooling took place at Greater Austin Dance Academy, where she took a variety of dance classes to develop her technique and performance. 

Hannah attended Cedar Ridge High School where she was a member of the Cedar Ridge Royalty dance team, serving as a Social Officer her senior year. After graduating, she attended Texas State University to study Dance Education and was a 4 year member of the Texas State University Strutters. She served as Secretary and President, and traveled extensively with the team to perform in numerous parades and appearances in Chicago, Washington D.C., New York, and Philadelphia. Throughout her time in college, Hannah taught at Greater Austin Dance Academy, choreographed for dance teams in the Austin area, and worked contests for Showmakers America.

After graduating from Texas State with a Bachelors of Fine Arts, Hannah moved to Florida to work at Walt Disney World as a Fairy Godmother in Training at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Magic Kingdom. She has now returned to the Austin area and is very excited for her fifth year as the Assistant Director of the Pflugerville Pfusion Dance Team and third year as head coach for the JV Pfusion team
